NY Premiere of Indian Artist Pallavi Paul’s “Burn the Diaries” at the Rubin Museum of Art

The English translation of New Delhi-based artist Pallavi Paul’s “Burn the Diaries” is in display at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City. The artwork is a 110 ft. (33.5 m.) silk scroll with printed text inscriptions inspired by Noor’s life and death. According to Sara Raza, curator and founder of Punk Orientalism, the piece is “intended to be read as a performance, raises the question about the role of official archives in producing evidence, mapping underground truths & critiquing what constitutes the ‘real’.” While the performance itself cannot be realized due to the ongoing pandemic, you can read the transcript yourself here.
