United Kingdom Considering Proposal to Issue Noor Coin
UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak is considering a proposal which would honor Noor on a set of Royal Mint coins. Plans have been submitted to the Royal Mint to draft proposals and designs for the potential coins, as part of former Conservation parliamentary candidate Zehra Zaidi’s “Banknotes of Colour” campaign. If the proposal is approved, this will be the first time that non-white individuals will be featured on British legal tender.
