Scholar Sara Kuehn to Present ‘A Real-Life Jataka Tale’ on the Life of Noor at International Conference at Weingarten Abbey

Art historian and religious studies scholar Sara Kuehn of the University of Vienna will present on Noor’s life at an international conference at Weingarten Abbey. “The Female Visions: Religious Visual Culture of Contemporary Female Islamic Mysticism” conference draws on recent interdisciplinary research on “the often-overlooked role of women in contemporary Islamic mysticism.” Her presentation is “A Real-Life Jataka Tale: Seeking Inspiration from the Life of Pirzade-Shahida Noor-un-Nisa Inayat Khan,” developed out of her current research on contemporary Sufism in Europe.
